The CCSP is buzzing with the upcoming launch of The Book of MPub on Friday. But we’re especially excited to announce the premiere of another MPub production: Hur Publishing’s Dragon Problems. Inspired by the first-semester book project, Tracy Hurren and Kathleen Fraser established Hur Publishing in 2009 to publish fine books highlighting first-class content through innovative format and exceptional design. Their first title is Dragon Problems by Chris Carrier and illustrated by Stacey Buchanan.
Dragon Problems is the story of Will and his dragon, Pickles. Will lives in an ordinary house in an ordinary town with his ordinary Mom and Dad and sister Emma. But one day, Will discovers that even the most ordinary things can turn out to be extraordinary.
When you look into the eyes of Pickles, you’re sure to long for a chubby little dragon to throw in your own fireplace.
Dragon Problems will share the stage with pressplay’s Book of MPub at 4:30 on April 16th at SFU’s Harbour Centre in Vancouver for the launch to end all launches, and all school years (literally all, hopefully, as the day also marks the end of this year’s Master of Publishing cohort’s class work).
Books will be available at Friday’s launch. If you’d like to order your copy off hurpublishing.com and you live in Vancouver or Kamloops make sure to select the no shipping option. Tracy and Kathleen are more than happy to hand-deliver your purchase (what service!).
