About

The Canadian Centre for Studies in Publishing (CCSP) is Canada’s book, magazine and online publishing research and education centre based at Simon Fraser University’s Harbour Centre building, located in downtown Vancouver. Founded in 1987, the CCSP is a university/industry initiative dedicated to the development of publishing in Canada and internationally. It is advised by an industry board and emphasizes book, magazine, and web publishing. The CCSP offers a Master’s degree in publishing, an undergraduate minor in publishing (these under the Faculty of Communication, Art, and Technology), as well as SFU’s Summer Publishing Workshops.

SFU Vancouver at Harbour Centre is easily accessible by public transportation and borders the vibrant Gastown restaurant and shopping district. It occupies five floors of the historic Spencer Building, which today sits over a mall with shops and a food court.

SFU Vancouver at Harbour Centre is at the hub of electronic communications technology in Vancouver, with the city’s primary fibre-optic communications trunk originating at the site. The entire Harbour Centre building is networked with the highest quality computer technology and technical support.

Students work in comfortable, fully equipped classrooms, project rooms, and presentation theatres. They carry out design and production tasks in a state-of-the-art computer lab, and copiers, printers, and digital colour printers are available for the exclusive use of MPub students.
